Mumbai High Court Ruling on Maintenance

The Mumbai High Court on Thursday hearing a petition filed by a government employee, Mohan Hari More, gave a significant order that every time a man gets a salary hike, the maintenance he pays to his former wife should also be enhanced. The Hindu Law maintains that the wife has the right to be maintained as she was when she was married except when she remarries. The amonunt of maintenance is fixed based on the income of the man.
